The Skinny Hype

Alright. I've decided I know what I want to talk about.

Who's the genius behind the modeling industry that decided a woman' s worth depends on the smallness of her waist? It just plain annoys me. All the models I've ever seen (except for the few in Seventeen magazine) are these super-skinny, unrealistic girls! These girls are few and far between, most girls are not even CLOSE to their tiny sizes. However, a lot of girls try to reach those sizes by starvation, vomiting and over-exercising. Why? Because the losers that run this twisted world have decided that only size double zeros up to size fours are beautiful.

Beautiful. That is just what every girl wants, to be called beautiful. And girls today believe that those skinny mini runway models are the only beautiful ones out there because they are super skinny. IT'S RIDICULOUS, PEOPLE!!! Ladies, you are so beautiful, every one of you. When I'm walking around, I try to see something beautiful in each person I see, whether it's inward or outward. Take one of my best friends, Heather. She is a beautiful girl, in outward appearance, yes, but more inwardly. She has a fantastic personality and one of her best traits is her innocence. (ILY, sweetie!) Another example is Neecie, another one of my best friends. MY favorite thing about her is her randomness. I get it from her and love her to death because of it.

There is something beautiful about each and every one of us. Size 12 is not fat. Size 16 is not fat. Never put yourself down, because we all were created by God who made us beautiful. Every one of us, all of us are beautiful. Yes, we will all have our moments of doubt, but these should never last for long. We should not rely on acceptance from other people, because they are JUST PEOPLE also. They are not gods, you should do conform to their standards of beauty. Do not rely on makeup. It only a mask to disguise what you hate about yourself. And never, ever rely on guys to make you feel beautiful. It is a wasted effort. You need to see your own beauty yourself. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. No matter what you do, you are a beautiful person. Always believe that. If you believe that you are beautiful, it will shine through to other people and they will see your true beauty as well. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and only YOU are that beholder. Remember: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

I know this sounds like another useless pep talk, but it really is true and for those of you that know me, you know that I have struggled with self esteem all my life. I really believe that the only way to be beautiful is to believe you're beautiful.
